January News

California's pro-life college groups are especially active during the month of January in observing the anniversary of Roe v. Wade. For the fourth year in a row, a sea of solemn, white crosses will stand in White Plaza of Stanford University on January 22, as Stanford Students for Life (SSFL) hold their annual memorial, "Remembering the Victims of Roe v. Wade." The memorial will stand from 8 AM to 4 PM. For more information about SSFL, please visit http://prolife.stanford.edu.

Berkeley
Students for Life (BSL) will host their Fourth Annual Celebrate Life Week from January 28, which will feature Dr. Mary Davenport, one of the few pro-life gynecologists in California. For more information about BSL, please visit

2008 Walk for Life

The 4th Annual Walk for Life will take place on Saturday, January 19, 2008. Check out the Walk for Life Official Website to see a video of the 3rd Annual Walk for Life and the amazing speakers who will be there this year!

Spotlight on... Berkeley Students for Life

Berkeley Students for Life is dedicated to educating the Cal community about the dignity of human life, especially that of the preborn and the seriously ill. As part of this goal, BSL seeks to engage in a dialogue challenging widely held assumptions concerning individual autonomy, the right to life, the state's role in protecting life, and many other issues associated with the abortion and euthanasia debates. However, BSL aspires to be more than a participant in a debate. They also provide information to assist women who are in crisis pregnancies and work towards a culture that more fully respects the fundamental value of human rights. More information about BSL can be found at http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~bsl/about.htm.

Spotlight on... Stanford Students for Life

Stanford Students for Life is committed to working within the Stanford community to promote the most fundamental human rights for the most vulnerable members of society. Their main activities include volunteer work with unwed mothers, hosting speakers at Stanford, and educating their community on pro-life issues. In 2007, SSFL hosted the Founder of Libertarians for Life, Doris Gordon. As part of their annual activities, they proudly participate in the Walk for Life West Coast in San Francisco, hold a Roe v. Wade Memorial for the victims, and enjoy periodic visits to Heritage Home in San Jose. More information about SSFL can be found at prolife.stanford.edu.
